It gives any user on that host the right to connect to X. Indeed a bad
thing if you ask me. Here's what I use (learned it from this list a long
time ago):
xauth merge ~user/.Xauthority
It allows you to use the magic cookie of "user" to connect to X. Much
saver in my book.
