there already is...
on a debian standard installation the kernel messages(which is what dmesg displays) are saved in /var/log/kern.log, or if you use another logging deamon it may differ...for metalog for example you will find it in /var/log/kernel
the only problem is that if it panics there may be a problem writing to the disc...
