    Hi Debian Users :)

    I discovered a Problem on one of my machines.

    The machine runs 2.2.25 compiled with make-kpkg
    It has UW-SCSI and an IBM Harddisk of 9 GByte capacity.

    Sep 30 16:41:49 mx3 kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device
    Sep 30 16:41:49 mx3 kernel: 08:01: rw=0, want=1241513985, limit=1048560
    Sep 30 16:41:49 mx3 kernel: dev 08:01 blksize=1024 blocknr=1241513984
    sector=-1811939328 size=1024 count=1
    Sep 30 16:41:49 mx3 kernel: Remounting filesystem read-only

    This has happened with early 2.2.x kernels, as I read 2.2.8-2.2.13

    This error has been discussed on this list a few years ago... around
    2.2.14 - i think *g*

    Has anybody else this problem with 2.2.25?
    And has anybody solved this?
    could this also be caused by an hardware problem?

    I´m not subscribed to debian-user at the moment so please CC me
    directly.

    thanks,

    mfl
