    I know that there's a general issue with some of the USB support with
    regards to copying large amounts of data. I'm guessing that you're using
    a USB 1.1 port and 'usb-uhci' as your USB module. If that's the case,
    try switching to the alternate USB driver, just 'uhci'. I had almost
    this identical problem before with one of my USB devices and switching
    the module over to 'uhci' fixed it right up. Good luck. :)
