Hello,
I'm running a sid/unstable system with devfs+devfsd and kernel 2.6.3.
I've got both kudzu and discover running, with basically their default
configurations.
My question is: what is the "proper" devfs/autoloading way to get a DVD
drive loaded w/ the ide-cd module? By default, discover loads the
ide-scsi module and turns the DVD drive into a SCSI one. As this is
unnecessary in 2.6, I don't want this behavior. I eliminated the
ide-scsi module with "skip ide-scsi" in /etc/discover.conf. However,
discover doesn't seem to autoprobe for IDE CD/DVD drives. I solve the
problem w/ "ide-cd" in /etc/modules, but I was just wondering if there
is a "more correct" solution. Thank you!
