from what i understand of the aptitude philosophy, i'm supposed to be
able to select what i want as me, and then only su - root after i've
selected everything. however, when it prompts me to become root and i
type in the root password, i always get "Subprocess exited with an
error -- did you type your password correctly?" yes, i'm typing the
password correctly.
i get no complaints (and, incidentally, no warnings) if i run aptitude
as root.
what's wrong here?
thanks,
</nori>
