ps stopped showing threads or java doesnt use them anymore ? (2.6.8-rc2)

I moved to kernel 2.6 some time ago (2.6.8-rc2 now) and I just noticed
that I don't see all the java threads anymore (matlab with jave
1.3.1-12). Has java stopped using them (could this be a kernel issue)
or has ps just stopped showing all the threads? If so, how do I see
them?
