    CUPS has a driver for this.
    IF you are running KDE:
    Go to the K menu in lower right hand side of
    desktop.
    Left mouse click on "K"
    Left mouse click on "Print System"
    Left mouse click on "Add Printer"

    Left mouse click on "Next"
    Left mouse click on "Local Printer"
    Left mouse click on "Parallel Port #1"
    Left mouse click on "Next"
    Left mouse click on "Cannon"
    Left mouse click on "bjc-4300"

    Answer more questions.
    It should work immediately or after you reboot
    your linux computer.
