Ctrl-Alt-F1 -- switches to first virtual console
    Ctrl-Alt-Del -- standard shutdown/reboot

Make sure that the shutdown line in /etc/inittab says -h rather than -r,
    otherwise it will just reboot.

Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work in X; that's why you have to switch to a
    console screen first.
