I have tried this, but nothing happens... Here is what i did:

    server:~# mii-tool -v --force=100baseTx-FD eth0
    server:~# mii-tool -v
eth0: 10 Mbit, half duplex, no link
product info: vendor 00:00:00, model 0 rev 0
basic mode: 10 Mbit, half duplex
       basic status: no link
       capabilities:
       advertising:

Very strange. I have tried a different port on the hub with no change to
the above. BTW: All other servers are at 100base-Tx. Here is some more
    output:

    server:~# mii-diag -a
    Using the default interface 'eth0'.
    Basic registers of MII PHY #32: 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000.
Basic mode control register 0x0000: Auto-negotiation disabled, with
Speed fixed at 10 mbps, half-duplex.
      Basic mode status register 0x0000 ... 0000.
        Link status: not established.
Link partner information information is not exchanged when in fixed
    speed mode.
        End of basic transceiver informaion.

    server:~# ethtool eth0
    Settings for eth0:

             Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full

             Transceiver: internal

The Ethernet Card is as follows:

    server:~# lspci
00:0c.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139
    (rev 10)

    Any further help is greatfull.
