    I had the same problem .

    First of all you must of got the newer version and tried to install the new one. Cannot do this. The message appears.

     Just go and uninstall firefox and go and use find files delete anything that says firefox. Get rid of the Firefox download program Completly reinstall firefox. This cured my problem.
