    1. mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile foo.rm rtsp://whatevah

    2. mplayer -vo null -vc dummy -ao pcm -aofile bar.wav foo.rm

    3. convert bar.wav to mp3, ogg etc. with your favorite converter
