    Hi there,

    I have an Ahtlon Classic (800 mhz) with 384 MB memory. I installed
    Debian Unstable on it and want to try to install user-mode-linux. I'am
    able to load root_fs'es made by the user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net
    guys, except the debian root_fs. That looks strange to me, so I tried to
    load (as published
    here:http://uml.pimb.org/howto/uml-debian-install.html#PURPOSE) the
    debian installer. System hangs... I tried to make a rootstrap myself,
    system hangs... It seems like there is something wrong in the debian
    root_fs'es, the debian installer and the root_fs rootstrap uses.

    It all hangs after the Mounted devfs on /dev line, something what is
    mentioned in the UML howto:

    "The boot looks like this:

        ||

    VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly.
    Mounted devfs on /dev

    You're probably running a recent distribution on an old machine. I saw
    this with the RH7.1 filesystem running on a Pentium. The shared library
    loader, ld.so, was executing an instruction (cmove) which the Pentium
    didn't support. That instruction was apparently added later. If you run
    UML under the debugger, you'll see the hang caused by one instruction
    causing an infinite SIGILL stream.

    The fix is to boot UML on an older filesystem."

    All nice of course, and other dist's root_fs' are working, but how do I
    get Debian to work now?

    I start uml with the folowing command:

    linux ubd0=debian_installer udb1=rootfs udb2=varfs udb3=swapfs
    eth0=daemon devfs=mount

    With regards,
