I've put Woody on a new computer and I'm having trouble getting the audio to
work. The sound drivers should be a AC97 or I810, but when I modprobe
i810_audio I get the following error:
/lib/modules/2.4.18-bf2.4/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: init_module: No
such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including
invalid IO or IRQ parameters
/lib/modules/2.4.18-bf2.4/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.18-bf2.4/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.18-bf2.4/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: insmod
i810_audio failed
If I modprobe ac97, it accepts the prompt with no error but I don't get any
sound.
This is how I'm testing the sound:
kwlv:/var/kwlv# ogg123 -d oss Foo\ Fighters\ -\ Darling\ Nikki.ogg
Audio Device: OSS audio driver output
Playing: Foo Fighters - Darling Nikki.ogg Ogg Vorbis stream: 2 channel,
44100 Hz
Title: Darling Nikki
Artist: Foo Fighters
Album: One By One Website
Track number: 4
Error: Cannot open device oss.
What can I try now?
Marion
