    It explains the DMA warnings (I get them too on my 2.6.7).

    However, you may try to use the new ATAPI interface in 2.6 giving cdrecord
    a dev argument like

    dev=/dev/hdc

    This works for me, though there are some cdrecord warnings about the
    /dev/... naming scheme being unsupported.
