no more ssh-login after kernel-update to 2.6.9

    hi,

    i got the following problem:

    after upgrading from 2.4.20 to 2.6.9 i can no longer login via ssh.
    (switched back to 2.4.20 now)
    i tried some things:
    running the MAKEDEV script and
    append="devfs=mount" in lilo.conf but that didnt help..

    any clues?

    /var/log/auth.log:
    sshd[399]: error: openpty: No such file or directory
    sshd[401]: error: session_pty_req: session 0 alloc failed

    libc-version: 2.3.2

    Host type: i386-pc-linux-gnu
