    Did and update/upgrade cycle on my SID box last night and again just
    now. alsa-base, alsa-headers and alsa-utils were all upgraded;
    alsa-modules was not and is at

    alsa-modules-2.4.27-1-k7_1.0.6a+5_i386.deb

    I now no longer have sound I get this on boot and when run from the
    command line:

    Starting ALSA.../etc/init.d/alsa: Error: alsactl restore failed with
    message 'alsactl: load_state:1134: No soundcards found...'.
    done.

    Not sure if important, but just to be sure I did an apt-get install
    --reinstall on that package with the following output:

    Preparing to replace alsa-modules-2.4.27-1-k7 1.0.6a+5 (using
    .../alsa-modules-2.4.27-1-k7_1.0.6a+5_i386.deb) ...
    Unpacking replacement alsa-modules-2.4.27-1-k7 ...

    Any thoughts? ... I did a quick scan of the list contents and didnt' see
    anything reported so I figured I'd post.
