I've never used 'printconf' - the web-based CUPS interface at
'http://127.0.0.1:631' has always worked fine for me.

When I use the CUPS web-based interface, I see a large listing of USB ports
(USB Printer #1, #2, etc). Just choose the first USB Printer number.
