To wipe the MBR will allow other OS's (like Windows)
to boot, but not help you boot Debian. If this is what
you want e.g. to boot into Windows, then you can use a
windows 98 CD to boot, type cd \win98, then fdisk /mbr
This will wipe your mbr - no good for linux, but fine
for microsoft products.
