i've a brand new notebook gericom (hummer series celeron m 1,4ghz, 256 ram). the default os is mdk 10.1 so i get it quite relaxed about the hw compatibility with linux as soon as i try to install my favorite distro -debian sarge- some problems arise.
debian sarge with kernel 2.6 allows me a few step further. base system installation is ok, after the reboot i can configure the root pswd, create my user account, configure ppp, but i can select and install all the other packages. so all i can have i a very basic sys without X and whatever.
please help
