I use fvwm for window-manager: it has a button bound to "exec sudo
/usr/sbin/synaptic" and /etc/sudoers is appropriately set.
Given the other posts I did not do "3dchess" but "3ddesktop" which
needed: freeglut3, libglut3, libimlib2 and libltdl3.
I right clicked on 3ddesktop, selected "mark for installation"
OK'ed the list that came up for the 4 added deps.
Did edit->apply marked changes.
Window appears with 5 successive download progress bars
After that window appears with installs.
Closing that window on finish shows synaptic again with 3ddesktop now
installed.
I do a backup before every dist-upgrade. But on that backup I do not
keep a script output of the last dist-upgrade :-( I'll change that, but
it does mean that I only know what got changed the last one I did: on
the 25th of feb.
