2.6.10 gives kernel panic

I'm having the same problem. A friend of mine (tnx to NN_Il_Confusionario)
pointed me out that initrd needed rebuild... so i did
/var/lib/dpkg/info/kernel-image-2.6.10-1-multimedia-686 postinst configure
and rebuild initrd but kernel panic is still there.
anyone can help?
