I'm going to play around with .xsession, and see if I can't get it to
work. Is there some wrapper script that's calling it? I'd like to
compare the Red Hat version to the Debian version, and see if I can
better understand where Red Hat is pulling it's environment from, so
that I can tweak my Debian box accordingly. Red Hat 9, for example,
uses "exec gnome-session" as the sole contents of .Xclients-default (or
defaults to it, if the file doesn't exist).
