no, generally the modules are in their own deb file.

it looks like you dont have a deb file for your thinkpad modules that
correspond to your kernel image deb. could the make-kpkg have died
prematurally, that is, before the thinkpad.deb file was created.

there are two reasons why i say that i dont think that the thinkpad
modules corresponds to the kernel image. that is the kernel version
number is different and it looks like your date stamp is different.

here is a list of my /usr/src:
    /usr/src $ ls
    configs
    kernel-image-2.6.10.20050124.0_10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    kernel-image-2.6.10.20050209.0_10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    kernel-image-2.6.10.20050209.1_10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    kernel-image-2.6.10.20050210.0_10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    kernel-image-2.6.11.5.20050324.0_10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    kernel-image-2.6.7.20040910.0_10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    kernel-image-2.6.7.20041020.0_10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    kernel-image-2.6.8.20040914.0_10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    kernel-image-2.6.8.20040914.1_10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    kernel-source-2.6.10
    kernel-source-2.6.10.tar.bz2
    linux-2.6.11.5
    linux-2.6.11.5.tar.bz2
    modules
    nvidia-kernel-2.6.10.20050124.0_1.0.6111-1+10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    nvidia-kernel-2.6.10.20050209.1_1.0.6629+1-1+10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    nvidia-kernel-2.6.10.20050210.0_1.0.6629+1-1+10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    nvidia-kernel-2.6.11.5.20050324.0_1.0.7167-1+10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    nvidia-kernel-2.6.7.20040910.0_1.0.6111-1+10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    nvidia-kernel-2.6.7.20041020.0_1.0.6111-1+10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    nvidia-kernel-2.6.8.20040914.1_1.0.6111-1+10.00.Custom_i386.deb
    nvidia-kernel-source.tar.gz

so there you have it. the modules deb should correspond to the kernel
image deb in both kernel version and append-to-version.
