It really seems to be the indicated bug. As you for sure noticed, Joey
Hess suggests to upgrade mdadm.
Anyway, I wanted to suggest a link:

which helped me in at least partially understanding what is going on in
RAID and what mdadm does.
Please keep me informed if/when udev+RAID works for you and how
you installed it, without breaking your system.
