    The only suspicious line in XFree86.0.log I can find is this:
    not using mode "1024x768" no mode of this name

    I googled - many users seem to have similar problems, but I didn't
    find a working solution for me. I have the screen resolution problem
    on a regular basis on the 4 machines here when installing different
    distros, but I never saw this "no mode of this name".
