gvim and vietnamese unicode file display problem.

    Dear list,

    I am using gvim and want to edit a vietnamese unicode file. The problem is
    that certain characters are not properly displayed. I'd be really helpful to
    hints/pointers/explanations as to how I can display the data file correctly.

    My installation is debian sarge, I'm running kernel 2.4.27. I open vi, type
    ":set encoding=utf-8" and ":e vietnamese-utf16".

    Here's the file that I want to display (encoded in 2 different versions).

    (use "xxd -r input.txt > vietnamese-utf16" to restore)
