Problem with ProFTPD+MySQL

    ProFTPD+MySQL

    when i try to set up ftp server , apt-get proftpd-mysql,
    and i find that proftpd is running,

    nmap 127.0.0.1 21 is open
    telnet 127.0.0.1 21 and try ftp 127.0.0.1 ,have no message. it seem
    not connected at all.

    what is the best ftp server in Debian.

    help me!!1
