When opening a 2,8GB .avi file with mplayer, all goes smooth, but
gmplayer can not open it at all. I get this errormessage:

vegard@hjem:~/filmer/Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers, Extended
    Version$ gmplayer Lord\ of\ the\ Rings\ -\ The\ Two\ Towers\

<-----------Personal note: THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS START------------->

Playing /home/vegard/filmer/Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers,
Extended Version/Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers (Extended
    Edition).avi.
    Seek failed
    [ws] Error in display.
[ws] Error code: 169 ( BadShmSeg (invalid shared segment parameter) )
    [ws] Request code: 148
    [ws] Minor code: 2
    [ws] Modules: demux_open
    [ws] Error in display.
[ws] Error code: 14 ( BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this
    connection) )
    [ws] Request code: 1
    [ws] Minor code: 0
    [ws] Modules: demux_open
vegard@hjem:~/filmer/Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers, Extended Version$

This also has a consequence for Avidemux, wich I need to split the
    movie into smaller files.

    How can I fix this?

    Cheers, Vegard
