    You have a basic config with woody. If you want better support for
    things, Debian has release a new stable distro: sarge. While woody is
    still supports, I would be recommended that you upgrade to 'sarge', as
    its the current stable.

    I like to try: 'X -configure' and what I can do. or use the debian
    perferred method: 'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86' and select the
    'vesa' driver (or maybe try the 'nv' if the vesa works)

    It is a good thing to be familiar with browsing the web with out X
    windows. Using links, w3m, or lynx are very good when you need to get
    info and since they do not show graphics are FASTER.

    It is not uncommon to have 2 computers or hardware that look identical
    only to find out that they are different parts inside. I keep reading
    about folks buying wifi cards with the exact same model number and one
    works and one doesnt because the manufacturers change the chipsets
    without changing the part/model number.
