    I work in tech support/development and deal with this phenominon every day.
    The people who read the documentation are in the great minority of users, and
    the people who actually understand the help you give them are even fewer. (at
    least in my field)

    Granted these people are volunteers, but they're the ones who are
    volunteering their time to help others. If they would rather spend that time
    flaming and telling others to RTFM, then perhaps they need to re-evaluate
    their stance on volunteering their time.
