Well, it isn't quite that bad. The dpkg infobot's knowledge base continues
to grow as the denizens answer questions and wrap them up in factoids.
There is no record of the entire conversation, true, but the knowledge
isn't quite as ephemeral as you make it out to be.

} is responding to what). This is very confusing. With an email client
} which respects threads, this problem is non-existent when reading emails
} on d-u.
For this you just need a client that highlights messages containing your
nick. People in #debian tend to be very good about directing responses to
the person who asked. You can keep track of your own thread by just
watching for highlighted messages.
