Well, on my laptop, Ubuntu (yeah, yeah, I know) turns off the screen
when I close the lid, and locks the session. When I open the lid, it
turns on the screen and prompts to unlock the session. And that's an
*old* laptop (400MHz K6-2, 128MB). So if Ubuntu can do that, I imagine
Debian (any Linux, for that matter) can do whatever it wants on lid
events. :)
