APT: ubuntu-version of libgcc1=dependencies issue

Recently I've been trying to install the libgtk2.0-dev package (on my
_sarge_ distro) with apt. This has not been possible, giving the
errormessage beow:

libgtk2.0-dev: Depends: libpango1.0-dev (>= 1.4.0-3) but it is not going to

Depends: libx11-dev but it is not going to be installed or
xlibs-dev but it is not going to be installed

Checking with synaptics function "Status"->"Installed(local and obsolete)",
I find that one package has foreign origin:
(showing output as shown in synaptic)
libgcc1 1:4.0-0pre6ubuntu7 1:4.0-0pre6ubuntu7 GCC support library
At first I tried to reinstall this package to get the correct version (sarge
version), using 'apt-get install' and 'apt-get --reinstall' wich did not
work. Then I tried to remove this package, using 'apt-get remove' but this
would most likely crash my system completly... All the outputs are shown in
the bottom of this mail.
What can I do to solve the dependecies issue, and/or fix the version
mismatch made by libgcc1, and be able to install libgtk2.0-dev??

Kernel: 2.4.27-2-686 (stock)
