    Hello,

Since the last apt-get dist-upgrade (or the kernel update to 2.6.13.4, which
was roughly at the same time) I have some network trouble during the init
    process:

    >From /var/log/boot:

    Mon Oct 31 11:04:42 2005: Cannot find/run boinc executable
Mon Oct 31 11:04:42 2005: Starting GNOME Display Manager: gdm.
Mon Oct 31 11:04:42 2005: Running ntpdate to synchronize clock
    + /usr/sbin/ntpdate -b -s -u pool.ntp.org Mon Oct 31 11:05:23 2005: Error :
    Temporary failure in name resolution

boinc is not found, because the nfs server containing the boinc directory can't
    be reached. From /var/log/messages:
Oct 31 11:04:40 eddie kernel: nfs: server marvin not responding, timed out
Oct 31 11:04:42 eddie kernel: nfs: server marvin not responding, timed out

The according links in /etc/rc5.d are:
    S99boinc
    S99gdm
    S99ntpdate
    S99rmnologin
    S99stop-bootlogd

When I logged in, all the trouble is gone. I can manually
do /etc/rc5.d/S99boinc and /etc/rc5.d/ntpdate and all is fine.

I have no Idea what to do to make things normal again... can you please help
    me ?

    TIA
