Re: pppoe connects but i need to run 'ifconfig eth0 up' please help....

Atlast solved.i reported this as a bug.but it isn't.the maintainer of
pppoe package asked in email to remove the gateway address and will
work.so my new /etc/network/interfaces looks like this:
cosmic:~# vi /etc/network/interfaces
# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface

iface eth0 inet static
name Ethernet LAN card
address 192.168.1.2
netmask 255.255.255.0
broadcast 192.168.1.255
network 192.168.1.0

auto eth0

iface dsl-provider inet ppp
provider dsl-provider
# please do not modify the following line
pre-up /sbin/ifconfig eth0 up # line maintained by pppoeconf

SO NOW I CAN CONNECT EASY! Thank You All!
