Yea, I had that in my Debian ref notes (6.4.4), but it doesn't seem to work (I didn't remember till you mentioned it). After using the cli I shutdown and rebooted. Came back up in dialog mode :-( Wondering if there was some problem with kde I used aptitude to look and found none.
Not quite sure where to look now?
