Debian stable. CD/DVD drive appears to be crapping out. dmesg shows:
[snip]
hdc: attached ide-cdrom driver
hdc: ATAPI 32X DVD-ROM drive, 256kB Cache, DMA
Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.12
hdc: packet command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdc: packet command error: error=0x30
ATAPI device hdc:
Error: Medium error -- (Sense key=0x03)
(reserved error code) -- (asc=0x57, ascq=0x00)
The failure "Test Unit Ready" packet command was:
"00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 "
[snip]Is it time for a new drive?
Thanks much.
