How to transfer files between them?

There are many different techniques. SAMBA, NFS, FTP, even
Konqueror-based FTP so it copies just like you are copying from one
directory to another. I like SSH for command line file copying.

Make sure that the SSH daemon is running on the other machine, and
from the machine you are logged into type, "scp file
username@othermachine:/home/username/"

The syntax for scp is the same for common tasks as copying with "cp",
just add the username@othermachine to either the source or
destination depending on which way you're copying the file.

I'm sure lots of other folks will tell you how they like to do it.
