I've searched with Google and don't understand it.
I'd appreciate comments, advice etc.
I had this problem a few weeks ago, but I'm afraid I don't recall what fixed it. I vaguely remember having to reinstall initrd-tools or something similar.
I know this isn't any help, but at least you know someone else has seen a similar problem.
