Click and ... nothing?

Is anyone else running Etch seeing a problem with GTK apps, in which one
clicks on a control (could be anything from a link in a Firefox web page to
a button) and ... nothing happens. The focus changes to the application, if
it wasn't there already, but no action takes place. A second click almost
always works. I've only noticed this in GTK apps.

Just trying to track down where to begin troubleshooting.
