been around for a while and will likely be deprecated and eventually
removed in favor of texlive.
Good question Micha. I didn't notice it until you asked. Seems it is time
to shift to texlive now.
However, if I remove tetex, all the following packages would be removed:
auctex* cjk-latex* dvi2ps* dvipdfmx* hevea* latex2html* latex2rtf*
and I didn't find any substition packages begin with texlive, execpt
texlive-pdfetex.
I can't live without the above tools. Does anyone has the solution?
It sounds to me as though you should file bug reports against those
packages. They should be made to depend on a virtual "tex" package, which
is provided by either tetex or texlive.
