I am trying to get sound working with quake 3 / doom 3 / RTCW from

For Doom 3, it sounds like there is an update available that adds

There is a command line option "+set s_alsa_pcm <alsa_device_name>" that can
be used but I'm not sure what my "alsa_device_name" is. I changed the sound
options from "best" to "oss" and that works. :)
