fglrx driver problems

With fglrx-driver package from debian, I didn't have direct rendering, and xv did not work, so I have downloaded ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run from Ati site. However, building of Debian package fails

root@main:~# sh /ras/dld/ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg Debian/etch
Creating directory fglrx-install
Verifying archive integrity... All good.

Is there some way to get this driver working on Debian? I have Radeon 9550 and with open source driver also no direct rendering. Architecture is amd64.
