ata_piix module in linux-image-2.6.18-4-686

We have some HP dc7700 installed with GNU/Linux 4.0, kernel version is
linux-image-2.6.18-4-686. With this version I can't see the second
installed SATA disk. If I use a (self compiled) kernel version 2.6.20.1,
I see this disk as /dev/sdb. Anyone else here with the same problem? Is
it a bug in the Debian version of the Linux kernel or is the ata_piix
module for the Intel SATA controller too old or ...
lspci| grep SATA
00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) 4 port
SATA IDE Controller (rev 02)
lsmod|grep ata
ata_piix 13576 7
libata 89396 1 ata_piix
scsi_mod 124168 4 sg,sr_mod,sd_mod,libata
Any help for this "bug"? is greatly appreciated (or should I file a bug
report?).
Thanks
