ntfs-3g or fuse: no file date updates

Problem: when saving files from within OpenOffice
or attachements from Mozilla (Iceape Mailnews)
over existing files in ntfs-3g disk,
the old file dates stay unchanged.
Does anybody met this kind of problem?
The directory tree was initially created in ext3,
then moved to ntfs-3g disk,
some work was done with files under MS Windows XP,
and now the tree resides there.
It seems that the problem arose after these steps.
The dates are updated if files are saved from GNU Emacs.
System: Debian etch, upgraded permanently,
on Intel Celeron.
