use it.
What you are mistaken about is that Ubuntu = Debian. Ubuntu has their
own mailing lists, and their own forums. I hear the community is quite
respective of new users and caters to their needs.
As a user that switched from Kubuntu to Debian, I can assure you that
the above is true.
Please don't tell the experts on this list what they should or shouldn't do.
