Whom are you kidding? Some of us pay by the amount of bandwidth used. All
the OT threads do cost us money. Moreover, there is the cost of archiving
all these discussions which are not relevant to debian project.

There are tools that allow you to examine the headers of messages from
your POP server and then exclude whichever ones you want. It would be
very aesy to setup to skip over all the OT messages and not download
them.
