For the ISA 3C509 - you need a DOS boot disk and a copy of the 3Com
utility disk. Boot using the DOS disk then run 3c5x9cfg.exe
For the 3C905 - that's a standard PCI card if I recall correctly. It may
also respond to the 3Com utility disk approach. [3c90x2.exe] You might
want to try ethtool and mii-diag to try and establish what settings are used.
You may be able to pass command line options into the GRUB boot stanza.
I have a 3Com 3c905B that is using the 3c59x driver module, but it will
only come up at 10 Mb/s instead of 100. I tried the solution listed in
that link, but it doesn't see, to help. I notice that that post is rather
old though. Is there a different way to set those module parameters now?
Is there a better way to solve this problem now? (other than buying a new
nic).
Thanks
-Colin
