how do you get into grub to add another hard drive to the boot list or do
ineed to add lilo or something? Ps the drive is a seperate drive with
windows on it
/boot/grub/menu.lst is where your grub config is, lots of comments in there.
Don't mess that file up or you'll have to learn chroot.. ;)

Once you've gotten back into Debian normally (or from within the chroot before running lilo, if you prefer), you'll need to edit /etc/lilo.conf to make sure Windows is accessible. ...
